The founder of Vanmotion, Dunk Aston has over sixteen years’ experience in making bespoke, high quality, fitted furniture, working with rare veneers, and applying traditional lacquer, varnish, and modern paint finishes.

To this high level of craftsmanship, Dunk brings a long-standing love of classic VW campervans, and many years’ practical experience of travelling and camping in them, including a three month trip across America.

Background

After spending four years as an apprentice in a small joinery company, and completing his advanced City and Guilds qualifications in carpentry, joinery and bench joinery, Dunk Aston moved to GK DESIGN, an award winning luxury kitchen company, based in Bedfordshire, progressing from cabinet maker to manager.

After seven years as a manager, Dunk felt he needed a fresh challenge, and spent two years working for a Australian company making high quality furniture, which gave him ample opportunity to improve his skills and extend his knowledge of materials.
